Braces straighten crowded or gapped teeth and correct how the upper and lower teeth meet. At DRS Dental Hospital, braces are planned and fitted by Dr. Himabindu (BDS, MDS), orthodontist, for children, teenagers and adults.

Types of braces

Metal braces: strong and reliable for most cases. Read more about metal braces.

Self-ligating braces: brackets that hold the wire without elastic ties.

The right age

Children can have an orthodontic check from about age 7, and many start braces between 10 and 14. Adults can have braces at any age when the gums are healthy. See braces for kids.
